Transfer Credit

A student transferring into the university receives a formal evaluation of transfer credit during their initial advisement meeting. The student is responsible for seeing that the Office of Admissions receives official transcripts of all course work taken elsewhere. In the case of some out-of-state courses, a Course Equivalency Verification Form may need to be completed by the faculty advisor and sent to the appropriate dean. The dean will then send the results to the student's faculty advisor and degree auditor.

In general, credits are accepted from regionally accredited institutions, provided that the course content is equal to that offered at Northeastern State University. A course transfer guide is available on the NSU website. You may also view the Oklahoma Regents for Higher Education Course Equivalency Tables of other Oklahoma four-year institutions. Students who have questions concerning transfer issues should contact Suzanne Myers, Transfer Student coordinator in the First-Year Experience Office at (918) 444-2137 or e-mail her at myers@nsuok.edu.
