First Class Mail

Any mail-able matter may be mailed as First Class. When the weight exceeds 11 ounces, First Class mail automatically becomes priority mail. Within the United States, First Class mail is usually delivered one to four days after mailing, depending on distance and "postal zone" designations.

First Class mail includes handwritten or typed letters, bills and/or statements and is automatically forwared to an updated address or returned to sender at no addition cost.

First-Class Mail includes:

  • First-Class Mail Cards - Rectangular cardstock piece not contained in an envelope
  • First-Class Mail Letters - Small rectangular piece no thicker than 1/4 inch weighing 3.5 ounces or less.
  • First-Class Mail Large Envelopes - Flat rectangular piece no thicker than 3/4 inch.
  • First-Class Mail Packages - A box, thick envelope, or tube weighing up to 13 ounces.
  • Presorted First-Class Mail - For high volume business mail, minimum of 500 pieces - must be presented to the Drop Zone at least a day before the intended mailing date. Due to recent postal changes, this mail must be processed by the Drop Zone's mail sorting software, with the Drop Zone applying the addresses and barcodes, to qualify for the discounted rates.
  • Priority Mail® - Cost-effective delivery in 2-3 days to most locations
