The Drop Zone's mail sorting software allows for addresses to be printed directly onto the mail piece. The program connects to a certified USPS link to update addresses, access recent Address Changes and incorporate these into the mailing. It also creates the required barcode for each mail piece. These address lists should be emailed to the Drop Zone manager in a simple excel format before the mailing, for viewing and timely processing. This applies to any bulk mailing over 200 pieces, and may be envelopes, postcards, approved flyers, and brochures. The result is a professional finish with cost savings to the department.

This process improves the accuracy of delivery point codes, ZIP+4, 5-digit Zip Codes, and carrier route information. CASS provides a common platform to measure the quality of address matching software and useful diagnostics to correct addressing Problems.
All un-enveloped mail pieces prepared for automation rate mailings must be tabbed (secured) to prevent jamming on high speed USPS processing machinery. Staples are specifically excluded. Depending on size and shape, some mail pieces may require multiple tabs to meet postal requirements.
