Re-applying for Housing
Each year in late February, early March, Housing hosts priority period. This period of time is set aside for students to renew their applications for next year. Students that are returning to Northeastern State University are urged to participate in this process to reserve their room, or select a new room, for the following academic year.
If you are wanting to renew your contract, but would like to select another room, or another building please feel free to speak with our hall staff. They have been through the process before and can give you tips on how to get what you want. If they do not know the answer, they will know someone who does.
Reapplication Process
Our reapplication process follows this order:
- Students staying in their same room
- Displaced students (normally students staying in the freshmen only halls)
- Same building different room
- Open selection
Priority Period 2012
The dates to re-apply for housing will be as follows:
February 5th - Same Hall Same Room (9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
February 6th - Relocated Communities (9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
February 7st - Displaced Students (9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
February 8th - Displaced Students (9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
February 9th - No Restrictions (9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.)
Eligibility
To be eligible to participate in Priority Period, you must be in good standing with the University. This includes having your bill paid by the date that you are eligible to sign up. You do not have to enrolled during this time, but to maintain your reservation you will need to enroll before the end of the current semester.
Displaced Residents
To make room for incoming students, renovate, or re-assess usage, we have to displace residents of those locations. We do however try to limit the number of residents affected by this process. The following list are areas affected by one or more of the previously mentioned reasons.
- South Leoser (This includes Southeast, South, and Southwest Leoser)
- North Leoser (This includes North, and 1st and 2nd Northeast Leoser)
- Ross (2nd floor)
- Logan (Quad G-7 to G-12 & G-14)
- Hastings (Quad 101-112)
- Wyly Hall
- Haskel (2nd floor)
- Seminary Suites (Specific Suites)
This is not a complete list, but includes the vast majority or displaced residents. If you have been displaced you will be allowed to sign up for a new room starting February 7th.
