The Community
South Leoser is one of Northeastern State Universities' First Year Experience buildings. First year students, male and female, live and learn together in a traditional residence hall that focuses on Independent Living Skills, Social Development, and helping students assess their careers and life goals.
South Leoser is split into three wings; South Leoser, Southeast Leoser, and Southwest Leoser. Southeast Leoser and South Leoser are dedicated to males while Southwest Leoser is dedicated to females. There is a common bathroom on each floor for the residents of that floor to use. Each bathroom has four shower stalls and toilets and two sinks. Each wing has about 100 students.
Building Amenities
The focal point for South Leoser Complex is the RiverHawk Lodge. Equipped with a large screen television and several couches, it is the center of most residents living in South. Leoser Complex also has a computer lab, the “Chatterbox,” a place where residents can hang out and eat, “Essentials,” a place for residents to buy food with their flex points, and a Pizza Hut Express! Each wing of the South Leoser Complex has free laundry facilities on the first floor.
Room Design
South Leoser Complex was remodeled in the summer of 2008 and is in exquisite condition. Each room has two beds, two desks, two desk chairs, two closets, two small dressers, and two large dressers. The beds can be bunked or lofted. All furniture is moveable and each room has a sink with a mirror. Each room is equipped with high speed internet, free local phone service and basic cable television outlets.
