Performance Appraisal

Performance Appraisal offers an opportunity for open two-way communication between a supervisor and employee to review work performed and sets targets for future accomplishments.  The Office of Human Resources provides various forms for performance appraisal to facilitate communication:

  • New Hire Performance Appraisal
  • Standard Performance Appraisal
  • Goal-Focused Work Plan

Performance for a new employee or an employee in a new assignment will be evaluated within the first five months.

Departmental Deans and Directors determine the appropriate form for staff performance appraisals.  In order to ensure consistency, all like positions within a department will have performance evaluated using the same form.  All staff employees should have performance evaluated at least once every twelve months.

Blackboard Training and Resources are available to assist with the performance appraisal/evaluation process, including a current schedule of HR Classroom Training.
