Career Services Faculty/Staff Partnerships

Faculty/Staff Partnerships

You are important partners with us in helping students and alumni launch their careers. This partnership is devoted to achieving the best match between an individual student and employer. Students seek career guidance and assistance from you. Because of this, we invite you to partner with our department and access Handshake.

Handshake is an online registration and job posting system exclusively available to the NSU community. This system allows students and alumni to upload resumes and cover letters for employer viewing, conduct job searches, receive job alerts via email, view and RSVP for career events and request to interview with companies conducting on-campus interviews. Employers post internships, part-time and full-time employment opportunities. The system allows online access 24/7. There were 23,365 jobs posted Fiscal Year 2015-2016, with 4,973 employers registered.

Both faculty and staff can access the Handshake to view job postings, view announcements regarding employers conducting on-campus interviews and relevant career events.

Classroom Presentations

Career Services staff welcome the opportunity to visit your class and discuss career readiness topics including: Resume & Cover Letters, Interviewing, and Networking & Job Search Skills. If you cannot be in class, we can be there for you! Please provide at least 48 hours of notice in order to schedule a staff presentation. For more information on Career Services presentation topics, please visit the Presentations page.

Classroom Assignments

Class assignments are a great way to get your students engaging with Career Services. We can partner with you for student resume reviews, career assessment reviews, mock interviews, and more! To discuss potential class assignments with Career Services, please contact us at 918-444-3110 or email us at

POLICY UPDATE: When an assignment is requested with Career Services, the instructor's name and CRN # will be assigned to a tab on the Career Counselors' Master Class Assignments spreadsheet. You may request viewing access to monitor your students' progress towards completing their assignment and/or request a report to be sent after the assignment due date. Progress reporting will not be accommodated on individual documents or sheets. This allows our Career Counselors to maintain a streamlined system and efficiently manage the volume of class assignments they track.

On-Campus Interviews

Northeastern State University Career Services invites various employers and organizations throughout the academic year at the Tahlequah and Broken Arrow campus locations. Providing recruiters with qualified candidates for current job opportunities and students easy access to interviews on campus, the on-campus interview is a win-win situation for employers, students and/or alumni. The interview location will vary between the Tahlequah and Broken Arrow campus locations dependent upon employer preference.

We encourage both faculty and staff to view the upcoming on-campus recruitment schedule each semester to find out about opportunities available to students and alumni and to also gain information on employers coming to campus to recruit.
