Performance Appraisal

Performance Appraisal offers an opportunity for open two-way communication between a supervisor and employee to review work performed and sets targets for future accomplishments. The performance appraisal system for NSU has four basic criteria: improve communication, improve performance, encourage employee development and guide personnel actions. The process of employee performance appraisal is intended to connect performance to the job description, provide opportunities to evaluate employees on a core set of work-related behaviors, encourage employees to set performance goals, and evaluate employee performance on previous goals.

Training workshops are scheduled on a regular basis for supervisors and management. The training schedule is available on Blackboard. Blackboard training and resources are available to assist with the performance appraisal/evaluation process, including a current schedule of HR Classroom Training.
