About Tuition & Fees

Tuition and Fees

Please visit our course catalog for the most recent listings of tuition and fees.

For descriptions of these various charges, please see below.

Tuition

Students are assessed tuition based upon the number of credit hours awarded for each course, the course level, and residence status. All course offerings are listed by four-digit course numbers with the first digit indicating level of course. Undergraduate courses are all courses with the first digit 0 through 4. Graduate-division courses are all courses with the first digit 5 or above. The last digit of the course number is the number of credit hours earned through completion of the course. For example, ENGL 1113 is a freshman level English course providing 3 credit hours.

New students that are Oklahoma residents may choose to lock in an hourly tuition rate that will not change for up to four consecutive years while they are attending NSU, or to pay the standard tuition rate which usually increases slightly from year to year. The choice of tuition plans is only available prior to students enrolling in their first semester as a full-time student. Staying on the guaranteed rate requires a commitment from the student. To keep the guaranteed rate students must remain a full-time student throughout the four year period. The guaranteed rate applies to tuition only. Additional fees charged to all students (such as mandatory fees) and those associated with particular classes (such as lab fees) are assessed regardless of the tuition plan chosen.

Optometry students are charged a block tuition rate.

Tuition and fees are subject to change without notice.
