Your day to Soar

Thank you for scheduling your SOAR session and Welcome to Northeastern State University! Your orientation, advisement, and registration session is an important step of your college career!

Please visit the Department of Student Engagement for a full overview of SOAR.

A few things to note about the your SOAR Experience:

  • SOAR will be a virtual experience for new students. This experience will include learning about various components of campus and allowing you to think about your first year at NSU. We require that new students complete this module before their advising appointment, so it is an important part of the transition to NSU.
  • On top of the SOAR module, we will be hosting various zoom hangout sessions with current students for you to meet. These sessions will take place throughout the summer, and you're going to be able to learn more about general topics and what to expect!

Testing:

ACT scores determine whether you are required to take a placement exam prior to your SOAR session to ensure correct enrollment into one or more of your college courses. If testing is required, you will receive a separate email from NSU's Testing Services office, or you may call to find out which exams you may be required to take: 918-444-2139. If you are required to test and have not done so prior to your SOAR session, your SOAR session will be rescheduled.
