Cabinet Meeting Notes September 3, 2013

Cabinet was called to order by President Turner at 9:15 a.m.
Members present: Dr. Steve Turner, Dr. Pam Fly, Mr. Tim Foutch, and Dr. Laura Boren
Members not present: Mr. David Koehn and Mr. Ben Hardcastle

Dr. Turner informed the group that OETA was on campus this morning for a story on NSU regarding the number of non-traditional students attending NSU for the fall 2013 semester. Administrators and students will be interviewed for the story. He also reported that the Cherokee Nation Holiday event that was held over the past weekend went well and was very well attended.

International Programs-ESL program Update

President Turner updated the group on conversations taking place with CIBT regarding collaboration efforts for future international student enrollments.

CTL Space Needs

Dr. Pam Fly explained to the group that CTL is need of more operational space. Mr. Foutch and Mr. Koehn will work with Dr. Fly on needs and possible short term locations. Discussions will continue on long term fix.

Academic Affairs Update

Dr. Pam Fly updated the group on first week in the Acting Vice President position. She continues working with staff and faculty on items needing attention and moving forward with initiatives.

Announcements

Mr. Foutch reminded the group of the upcoming Master Planning Consultant visit to campus on September 4th & 5th.

Mr. Foutch reported that new air conditioning equipment has been ordered to combat the recent issues, fountain issues contributed to hard water buildup that plugs the flow of water, and hot water issues in Leoser.
