CABINET MEETING NOTES

Members in Attendance: Steve Turner, Debbie Landry, Jerrid Freeman, Christy Landsaw, Dan Mabery, 

Members Absent:  None

The meeting began at 9:00 a.m.

President Turner welcomed the group.

Immersive Learning/Workforce Memo
Dr. Freeman gave a history of all the work that has been done over the past few years.  We are now organizing all key people/initiatives. creating outcomes and KPI’s.  We will create subcommittees and workplans to help guide and push the initiatives.  Cabinet will be involved in order to report requirements.  We now need Cabinet’s blessing to move forward.  Dr. Landry added that people realized that the information needs to flow ad collaboration is needed.  It must be positive all around.  President Turner stated that work is being started on the next Strategic Plan.  He will have Dr. Cari Keller provide an update at the next Cabinet meeting.

Enrollment
VP Freeman reported that numbers are relatively positive.  He reported that fall 2021 numbers are at +4.8% Head Count with +.9% in Credit Hours.  Dr. Landry reported that Graduate numbers are up 41%.  Dr. Freemen added that admitted numbers are down by 82 from one year ago and 144 down from two years ago.  The group discussed the new law regarding Concurrent Enrollment in shared regions.

Commencement
Provost Landry updated the group on activities related to getting ready for Commencement. Volunteer numbers are at a good level.  The Commencement Committee continues conversations regarding logistics for the BA event.

Equity Transfer Initiative
Provost Landry updated the group on efforts for the Equity Transfer grant.  There is a deadline for applying.  There are meetings begin planned.  They are planning to be finished in June.  She stated that Dr. Fly is working with our partners on the 2 + 2 programs to keep them moving forward.

HLC Assurance Review
Provost Landry reported that the review must be sent to the reviewer by May 4th.  She will report back on the review results.

Leadership Tahlequah
VP Mabery reported that there are changes coming to the Leadership Tahlequah program.  It will now focus on leadership development and personal/group leadership. The curriculum will be changed to include economic development and tourism.  The goal is to revive and bring new things to the program.  Applications will be out on June 1 and will be due in early July.  He also reported that the Chamber is revising their sponsorship opportunities.

HEERF Student Funds
VP Landsaw reported an update on the latest HEERF funding disbursement.  

BA HS Student Increase
VP Landsaw asked if we are increasing the number of high school students in our BA partnership.  The group discussed new protocols and needs for the program.

Staff Council – Employee Recognition Lunch – Sodexo Costs-$3,639.48
President Turner reported that the total cost for the Employee Appreciation Lunch provided by Staff Council would be covered by remaining funds in an account that his office has.

End of Semester Letter
President Turner let the group know that he is finalizing his End of the Semester Letter to campus.  The letter will go out the Wednesday of Finals Week.

Legislative Update
President Turner updated the group on bills that are still being worked on.

VIP Commencement Dinner and Lunch – President’s Home
President Turner asked Cabinet members to place Commencement dinner and lunch on their calendars.
