CABINET MEETING NOTES

The meeting began at 2:00 p.m.

President Turner welcomed the group.

HEERF III (ARP Funds)
VP Landsaw updated the group the HEERF III funds have arrived.  The group discussed the amount and how it would be utilized.

Title IX Training – Due 5/30/21
VP Landsaw reminded the group of the ongoing training and the end of the month deadline.

COE Grant Proposal for Daycare
Provost Landry informed the group that the College of Education has asked to apply for a Daycare Grant.  The group discussed needs and agreed this would be a great addition to our programing.  Dr. Landry will provide more information at next meeting.

Commencement Feedback
Provost Landry asked for feedback on Commencement activities.  The group discussed improvements.

Enrollment/Retention
Provost Landry and VP Freeman reported that summer number are up .6% HC and 1.5 CH.  Fall is under .4 HC and down 2.5% CH.  Transfers, Concurrent, and Graduate numbers are up.  Retention is currently at 46% for Freshman.

Preferred Name Memo
VP Freeman handed out a memo that had been submitted by a student group that detailed a plan for Blackboard and Banner.  NSGA passed a Resolution to ask that students be able to use a “preferred name” in Banner/Blackboard along with their legal name.  The group discussed expectations and some requested updates.  Dr. Freeman will get changes made and email the final to the group for a vote.  All agreed to proceed.

Scholarship Changes to Improve Recruitment and Retention Efforts (leveraging)
VP Freeman introduced changes the the scholarship process to improve recruitment/retention efforts.  The group discussed the requested changes.  Dr. Freeman will bring final back for a vote.

State Budget Agreement
President Turner updated the group on the budget and how any extra funds will be allocated by the state.

Budget Meeting – 5/21/21
President Turner announced that there will be a budget meeting on May 21, 2021.

RUSO FY22 Budget Discussion – 6/4/21
President Turner announced the RUSO FY22 Budget Discussion will take place on June 4, 2021.
