CABINET MEETING NOTES

Members in Attendance: Steve Turner, Debbie Landry, Jerrid Freeman, Christy Landsaw, and  Dan Mabery

Members Absent:  none

The meeting began at 9:00 a.m.

President Turner welcomed the group.

Regents Business Partnership Excellence Award
VP Mabery announced that BA Public Schools will be recommended this year to be NSU’s Business Partner of the year.  The paperwork will be submitted to OSRHE soon. 

Leadership Tahlequah Submission
VP Mabery announced that applications for this year’s Leadership Tahlequah will begin in July and the application will go live soon.  Applications will be due July 15th.  The group discussed who from NSU should apply and how they will be funded.

Photo & Employee Directory Policy Feedback
VP Mabery relayed feedback from the policy committee on a policy proposal regarding the Employee Directory.  The group discussed needs to have employee photos displayed in the employee directory.  Mr. Mabery will make adjustments and get it back for final approval.

Budgets
VP Landsaw handed out the Budget Highlights document.  She explained how other universities are displaying CARES ACT money. The group expressed their gratitude for the work staff in Admin & Finance had done to get the document formatted.

Enrollment/Retention
Provost Landry and VP Freeman reported consensus numbers for summer.  We are up a little HC and down slightly in CH.  Fall is up .6% HC and down .7% CH stating that it is still early.  Graduate enrollment is still doing well.

Equity Transfer Update
Provost Landry reported the program is ready to launch.  There will be meetings in June.

HLC Update
Provost Landry reported the work on HLC is going well.  Websites are coming along nicely.  She stated that Charlotte is doing a wonderful job.

Academic Affairs Fellow
Provost Landry announced that Academic Affairs is reviving the Academic Affairs Fellow program.  This year Dr. Ann Watson will fill the position.

Quad State for PA Program?
VP Freeman discussed with the group needs for students in the PA program and the Quad State program. The group talked about the need to study then revisit what our peer group %’s are and adjust as needed.

Budgets
President Turner informed the group that he is almost finished with the budget update memo.  It will go out to campus on June 24th.  He also informed the group that the Tuition and fees hearing will be on June 23rd.

MIAA CEO Council
President Turner updated the group on discussions and actions that are ongoing in the MIAA CEO Council regarding the Football Task Force.

NEW Regents (RUSO and OSRHE)
President Turner updated the group on member changes in both the RUSO and OSRHE Regents.

COVID-19 Dashboard
President Turner updated the group on its current need.  It will likely be sunset now and bring it back if needed.
