About the Miss NSU Scholarship Competition

The first Miss Northeastern State College was crowned in 1960. Nancy Wheat won by a vote of the student body and held the title for one year. In 1961, the first competition was held for the title. Carol Willoughby won the contest, which has been a tradition ever since. The Miss Northeastern Scholarship Pageant is made possible through generous sponsor donations and support. Miss NSU is an official preliminary competition to Miss Oklahoma and is a member of the Miss America Organization.
