- Biography :Addison Rouse, Miss NSU 2026, is a freshman at Northeastern State University. Her Community Service Initiative, “Purposeful Paths: Celebrating Self and Discovering Purpose,” empowers the NSU community to find their purpose through seeking their heritage. Addison is a proud Cherokee and served as Jr. Miss Cherokee 2023–24. She is originally from Fort Gibson, Oklahoma, and is majoring in Political Science with a minor in American Indian Studies. At NSU, she is also a Freshman Senator for the Northeastern Student Government Association, a member of Delta Zeta Sorority, a Rookie Bridge Camp volunteer, and a RiverHawk Ambassador. Addison is proud to represent the RiverHawks and Tahlequah Community and is honored to serve as Miss NSU.
About the Miss NSU Competition
The first Miss Northeastern State College was crowned in 1960. Nancy Wheat won by a vote of the student body and held the title for one year. In 1961, the first competition was held for the title. Carol Willoughby won the contest, which has been a tradition ever since. The Miss Northeastern Pageant is made possible through generous sponsor donations and support. Miss NSU is an official preliminary competition to Miss Oklahoma and is a member of the Miss America Organization.
