Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I don't plan on returning to campus in the Spring, what do I need to do?
A: Your housing contract is for both Fall and Spring semesters. To start the process of being released from your contract, you will need to log into your housing portal (housing.nsuok.edu) and click on the "Thinking of Leaving" button.
 
Q: I am not returning to NSU, can I wait to move out after the break?
A: If you are not planning to live on campus for the Spring 2025 semester and fail to check out at the end of the Fall semester, you will be charged the daily break amount of $20.00 per day (Including Seminary Suites and Courtside).
 
Q: When can I sign up to stay for the Winter Break?
A: Signup sheets are available on line

Q: When do the halls close for the Winter Break?
A: The halls will close at 5:00pm on Saturday (December 14th, 2024) if you are graduation or attending graduation. If not, we ask that you plan on leaving for the break by 5:00pm on Friday December 13th. 

Q: Does it cost to stay over the Winter Break?
A: There is no longer a fee to stay on campus during the break!

Q: What am I allowed to leave in my room over Winter Break?
A: You do not have to move out of your room, so you do not have to remove anything unless you are not returning for Spring 2025.
(We do suggest that you do not leave open food containers or items in your mini-fridge)

Q: If I stay over the break, who can I call in case of an emergency?
A: We have staff on call 24/7 during the break in addition to Campus Police Officers on campus.

Q: Will food services be available?
A: Food services will be available, however meal plans will not be active during this time.

Q: When do the halls reopen for the Spring Semester?
A: The halls will reopen on January 10th at 1:00pm

Q: Will my left over flex points be available during the Spring Semester?
A: As long as you have an active meal plan for the Spring Semester, your flex points will roll over.

Q: I have a school related function going on during the break, will I have to pay to stay?
A: There is no longer a fee to stay on campus during the break!
