University Disaster Kit
This list was developed from FEMA's Ready.gov website. Quantities and amounts were adjusted to account for a student living in a resident hall setting.
Family or Personal Plan
- Develop a Personal/Family Plan
 - Review the Web site.
 - Take Note of your building's floor plan and exit routes.
 - Participate in fire drills and safety training programs.
 - Make note of the meeting place for our unit or department.
 - Keep a flashlight and battery-operated radio nearby.
 - Build a Disaster Preparedness Kit.
 - Locate the nearest fire extinguisher and fire alarm. Learn to use a fire extinguisher. (CCERT conducts this training every year.)
 - Know where to find university emergency information and basic first aid materials.
 
Basic Kit
- Water, 2-3 bottles
 - Food, at least a one day supply of non-perishable food
 - Flashlight and extra batteries, battery powered weather radio
 - First aid kit
 - Whistle to signal for help and a reflective belt
 - Dust mask
 - Moist towelettes for personal sanitation
 - Cell phone with chargers
