Clubs and Organizations

From networking to leadership opportunities, NSU’s over 80 clubs and organizations allow our students to build lasting relationships while getting the full college experience.

Whether you’re an incoming or current transfer student, NSU’s transfer advisors are available to assist you with transcript evaluation, information on degree programs and support services. NSU is where You Belong.

Academic Accommodations

Available Services

Assistance is tailored to the needs of the individual student. The following documentation is required from each student applying and should consist of one of the following:

  • IEP-the most recent version.
  • Physician/Licensed professional documentation, on letterhead, which states your diagnosis, how long you have been under care for diagnosed condition, and limitations/restrictions of your diagnosis. Official medical records are not appropriate and will not be accepted to meet our documentation requirement.
  • Adult testing results from a licensed psychometrist which states your diagnosis and classroom limitations.

Academic support services offered, based on individual need, may include but are not limited to: 

  • Extended test time
  • Distraction reduced testing environment
  • Orally proctored exams
  • Volunteer note takers
  • Tutoring referrals
  • Special seating
  • Audio texts
  • Adaptive equipment which includes software and magnification devices
  • Enlarged materials
  • Interpreters
  • Counseling referrals
  • Classroom relocation
  • Accessibility concerns

An additional modification, related to animals on campus, has been established to assist those in need of such accommodations as well as those in the NSU community.
Title XII Public Safety & Welfare Section 167-D:8 II. It is unlawful  for any person to fit an animal with a collar, leash, vest, sign, or harness of the type which represents that the animal is a service animal, or service animal tag issued under RSA 466:8 or to request a service animal tag issued under RSA 466:8 if in fact said animal is not a service animal.  For the specific university policy, please visit the Service & Assistance Animal Policy.

If you have a disability that may be affected by the presence of another's service or emotional support animal, please contact Student Disability Services at 918-444-2042 for the Tahlequah campus and 918-449-6139 for Broken Arrow and Muskogee campuses. NSU is committed to ensuring that the needs of all people with disabilities are met and will determine how to resolve any conflicts or problems as quickly as possible.

Students are responsible for requesting services each semester or at the time a need is identified.  An intake must be scheduled to begin the accommodation process.  Services are free of charge to qualified students.
