Your test results will determine the most appropriate course placement.
Who Needs to Take Placement Exams?
You may be required to take placement tests if you meet any of the following criteria:

Scored below 510 on the SAT in:

English
-
Reading
-
Math
-
-
Scored below 19 on any ACT sub-test in:

English
-
Reading
-
Math

Not sure if you need to test?

When to Take the Test
Students are strongly encouraged to take placement exams well before classes begin. This gives you time to:

Prepare and study using NSU’s provided guides

Retest if necessary
-
Avoid being placed in developmental courses
Retesting Policy

Minimum 1 week required between test attempts

Up to 2 retests allowed
-
Second and third attempts will incur a testing fee
-
After classes begin, retesting is allowed only under exceptional circumstances and requires:

Approval from the instructor of the course
