Military Credit

Military Credit

Veterans who have honorably served in the armed forces of the United States for a minimum of one year of continuous full-time active duty military service may be given credit for basic military training of up to six semester hours of lower division credit which will be recorded as 3 hours of H ED 1113, Personal Health, and 3 hours of Physical Education.

Credit for courses completed in military training schools may be granted as recommended by the American Council on Education in the Guide to Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Services upon approval of the academic department chair and college dean.

To obtain credit, veterans must provide official copies of their DD-214 separation papers and official documents such as Joint Services Transcript (JST) attesting to satisfactory completion of all armed forces special training schools to the Veterans Services Coordinator.  Military credit will be placed on the permanent record only after it is validated by the successful completion of twelve (12) or more semester hours of academic work at Northeastern State University.
