Short-Term Programs

Short-term, faculty-led study abroad programs allow students who are unable to leave their studies for a semester the opportunity to experience education abroad.

NSU Study Abroad student in Costa RicaThese trips are faculty sponsored and coordinated, and students may be able to receive class credit for trips by contacting the faculty sponsor. NSU tuition and fees for class credit are not included in price.

Faculty-Led Trips are sponsored and coordinated by NSU faculty. Compared with other NSU Study Abroad programs, these trips have extraordinary flexibility:

  • Eligibility - everyone (unless trip leader indicates otherwise)
  • Travel Type - in a group with the trip leader and other travelers
  • Duration - determined by trip leader, but generally 1-4 weeks during NSU Fall, Spring, Summer, or Winter break
  • Academics - some trips with credit are available
  • Financial Help - depending upon details of the trip, financial aid may be used to defray costs. Study Abroad grants are also available.
  • Application Deadline - determined by the Trip Leader

Contact the Trip Leader for more information about the trip and enrollment. Once you are admitted to a Faculty-Led Trip, you may apply for a Study Abroad Grant.
