To increase students' chances of academic success, this program enables faculty and staff to refer students to NSU's Student Success Coordinator for additional support and guidance. Referrals may be made at any point in the semester, though the sooner advising staff can meet with the student, the better the chance for a positive outcome.

The RiverHawk Center for Teacher Excellence, or RCTE, is a federally funded grant with locations on both the Tahlequah and Broken Arrow campuses aiming to address the critical need for teachers who are ready and able to engage and facilitate student learning on day one.

Through this grant, NSU can help potential education majors, teacher candidates and teachers be successful in their career journey to become a certified, impactful and employed teacher by providing a comprehensive, positive and supportive environment for them to learn and grow.

Student Health and Wellness

The Behavioral Intervention Team is a multidisciplinary team trained in to identify, assess, and respond to individuals of concern. Their goal is to provide resources and support in order to help individuals to be successful in the university community and to keep the campus safe. The team's purpose is to provide intervention to individuals displaying at risk behaviors or experiencing difficult or concerning life circumstances.

Rowdy's Resource Room is open to all NSU students. Located on the Tahlequah campus and Broken Arrow campus, Rowdy's Resource Room is here to assist students in times of need. This resource provides non perishable food, gently used clothing, and office/school supplies. Resource Centers and Financial Services

OK GEAR UP currently partners with 10 school districts and five regional colleges throughout the state to prepare nearly 12,000 middle and high school students for college success through college campus tours, ACT test preparation and testing, and college exploration and preparation courses. GEAR UP offers college access and financial aid information to students and families through awareness activities, including Oklahoma’s Promise and FAFSA completion assistance.

Once students arrive on one of GEAR UP’s partner college campuses, college coaches provide support to students in their transition into college. They connect with students to answer questions and share information to set students up for success.

The Northeastern State University Office of Student Financial Services is dedicated to informing and educating students on options regarding federal student aid. Our primary mission is to help students achieve their educational goals through financial support and resources. While performing this duty employees shall not participate in revenue-sharing agreements, receive any gifts from a lender, guarantor, or loan servicer, enter into any contractual agreements providing financial benefit from any lender, direct borrowers to a particular lender, initiate offers of funds for private loans, or receive compensation from any advisory board.
